paradox

fear a friend who wears your skin too close to be kind
walking past the city lights with only you in mind
failure in the sidewalk cracks like wrinkles around your father’s eyes
alive only by providence you go on while many drop like flies
we’ll be memories recalled ever so often until the colors fade
you’ve made terms with death already and have yet to live life unafraid
